2010 Home and Building Tour
Saturday, January 30, 2010
Sunday, January 31, 2010

Drive 45 minutes East of Phoenix and you will find one of America’s most storied mining towns.  Reported visitors included some of Western history’s most notorious characters, including Wyatt Earp and Doc Holiday.

Superior’s historical landmarks and beautiful landscapes have long been a favorite of Hollywood filmmakers and it served as a local for the Oscar®-winning film “How the West Was Won”.

Unfortunately the town fell on hard times a few decades ago when the copper, gold and silver mining booms dwindled out.

Today the town is making a comeback and you’re invited to join the party!  On the last Saturday and Sunday in January, the Superior Chamber of Commerce is hosting its annual Home and Building Tour.  From 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on January 30th and 10:00 am to 4:00 pm on January 31st, you can view many of the restorations made to various homes throughout Superior. The fee for the tour is $10 ($8 prepaid).

Superior’s guests can also enjoy a free Antique Show, lectures by Jack San Felice, author of “When Silver Was King”, as well as being able to watch the Mata Ortiz potters as they craft their world famous pottery amongst other artists.

The nationally renowned Boyce Thompson Arboretum, 2 miles West of Superior, will also welcome visitors.
